I was almost dead but thanks to my weight

One bad day and I was alone in the classroom with one of my friend working on some unnecessary drawing. I started to hear the sound of footsteps which I was expecting but hated the most. Me and my friend ran out in seconds and found our best place to hide. There were three rooms inside and we had chosen one each. But the sound was getting closer and louder every time the foot was stepped. I was sweating, the heartbeats increased and the sound stopped. I could hear the main door opening slowly with the strange noise which said the door was not used often. Soon I sensed the big, fat man entering the main door and I was almost dead with fear. Next moment I heard was a loud sound of a slap and my friend’s voice  “ Sir bitbidi please innondsala maadolla saar” (Sir please leave me this time , I won’t repeat again sir, please please!!!).
I wanted to laugh loud but held myself and I could understand the scene that he was caught in the first room. I was in the second room behind the doors hearing all this stuff, going crazy using all most all the parts of my brain to calculate an idea to escape. Thanks to my weight, probably I was the slimmest boy of our class then and he opened the door. I pulled my breath, stood up on my toes almost affixed myself to the wall behind the door. The door opened almost 75 percent and still that didn't hit me making sure that the fat man couldn't find anyone in the room.

Next moment I could hear him moving to the next door to search the next room. I was happy, relieved and was releasing my breath but heard another slap. “Saar illa sir innendu madolla sir” (Sirrrr please no, I will never do it again please”) came the voice of my friend again. I held my breath tight, I mean I almost stopped breathing!!!. Soon the footsteps started moving and the sound disappeared slowly. He was begging for life and I was not in a different feeling except that I dint get any slaps. Another 10 minutes I didn't move from there till I felt quite safe and came out of the room once I heard the students’ running back to their classes. The big fat man was our dear library sir (utmost respect I have for him) who came from the morning assembly session to catch the students who would give it a miss. We had a boy’s washroom inside school building which was never used by students for the purpose it was built but used by people like us to hide in the mornings to miss the assembly sessions.

I hated morning assembly sessions for the reasons I don’t know. Few of them would be I was very short and had to stand first in the front row in our batch. If I stand in the front, I must wear the white clean shoes which I never did. I had to paint the shoes everyday with piece of chalk to make it look good which was really boring job for me then. I have done all the useless stuffs to be out of the assembly sessions like trying to be part of music group which never worked out for I was such a bad singer!!!
There are quite a few times I tried to be part of drums band which would stand outside the assembly hall and have fun but I was driven out by my PE teacher for I was lean and skill less. I was the happiest man when I didn't have any such things to attend so early in the mornings in my engineering college eventually I was the rarest student for the first hour of my engineering classes which is not a good sign for you all students out there.
